HPE GreenLake Cloud platform drives next-gen storage innovation with hybrid cloud solutions

The storage industry is witnessing a significant transformation, with the HPE GreenLake Cloud platform integrating artificial intelligence, hybrid cloud and advanced data management solutions.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. is at the forefront of this evolution, driving innovation through its HPE GreenLake platform. These developments are transforming storage and setting new benchmarks for performance, efficiency and security in the industry, said Jim O’Dorisio (pictured, left), senior vice president and general manager of HPE Storage at HPE.

HPE’s Jim O’Dorisio and Caroline Seymour talk to theCUBE about the HPE GreenLake Cloud platform.

“From an architecture standpoint perspective, from my perspective, GreenLake Cloud enables a cloud experience everywhere. It enables the same cloud experience everywhere,” O’Dorisio said. “Whether you’re in the on-prem or you’re on the edge…we’ve extended an enterprise-grade block system into the cloud, into the public cloud. It’s a true hybrid experience. You’re going to be able to apply the AI pipeline and workloads wherever the data resides, and we’re going to be able to solve that problem for you.”

O’Dorisio and Caroline Seymour (right), vice president of storage product marketing at HPE spoke with theCUBE Research’s Dave Vellante and Rob Strechay at HPE Discover, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed HPE’s advancements in storage technology, particularly when it comes to the HPE GreenLake Cloud platform and Alletra architecture. (* Disclosure below.)

Innovation in the HPE GreenLake Cloud platform

The concept of “hybrid by design” is central to HPE’s strategy. It offers businesses the flexibility to manage data workloads seamlessly across different environments, according to O’Dorisio.

“Hybrid, by its very nature, says that you take the workloads where the data is, and we’ve built a secure and resilient hybrid by design infrastructure,” he said. “That’s what GreenLake has done. It’s really well-suited for AI workloads, because there you have to provide guardrails. You have to ensure that you can bring the capacity and the compute to the step in the model, step in the AI pipeline that you need there.”

The enhancements to HPE’s Timeless program demonstrate the company’s commitment to customer value, Seymour added. These improvements reflect HPE’s dedication to meeting customer needs effectively.

“Our Timeless program is where we’ve brought together a number of guarantees, such as our a hundred percent data availability, as well as also our Risk-Free program and also our Store More program,” she said. “As well, our guarantee with regards to the data reduction of about four to one. We added free controller updates, so that was significant. Then, we also added Alletra MP support into the Private Cloud business edition.”

HPE brings value by offering a complete turnkey solution with storage, compute and networking. However, it’s crucial for the underlying technologies to stand on their own, as customers still value best-of-breed products, O’Dorisio concluded.

“Different software, different workloads, compute that didn’t exist, networking, so we took it to the next level, but the blueprint was kind of there,” he said. “It’s all about as [how] long we stay focused on what customers need. I think in the enterprise, these solutions are very complex. You see about three clicks to value, three clicks to inferencing kind of thing and that’s really what we’re trying to do.”
