1Password partners with TD SYNNEX to secure unmanaged apps and devices
Cybersecurity and password service provider 1Password LLC today announced a new strategic partnership with information technology distribution company TD SYNNEX Corp. that will enable businesses across North America to secure every sign-in to every app from every device with 1Password’s Extended Access Management solution.
1Password’s XAM is designed to close the security gaps left by traditional identity and access management and mobile device management solutions. The solution provides protection for both managed and unmanaged apps, including shadow IT, and ensures secure access from any device. It integrates real-time device health checks and contextual access policies to help organizations address the challenges of hybrid work environments where employees often use personal devices.
Among its features, XAM has the ability to monitor and enforce security across all devices, even those outside the scope of MDM, to ensure that only compliant devices can access sensitive systems. It supports various authentication methods, including single sign-on and multifactor authentication, and offers remediation paths for non-compliant devices that allow users to address security issues without involving the information technology department.
TD SYNNEX will leverage 1Password’s XAM solution to offer enhanced cybersecurity options to its customers, with a focus on securing unmanaged apps and devices. By integrating XAM into its portfolio, TD SYNNEX will help businesses address challenges posed by shadow IT and personal device use, providing comprehensive security for hybrid work environments.
The partnership between the two companies will also see 1Password and TD SYNNEX collaborate on joint go-to-market initiatives, including co-branded marketing, shared resources and enhanced marketing.
“Partnering with TD SYNNEX will help us scale to more businesses who aim to secure the modern workforce amidst the challenges of remote and hybrid workplaces, bring-your-own-device and unmanaged applications,” said Monica Jain, head of global go-to-market partnerships at 1Password. “TD SYNNEX’s expertise in cloud distribution and value-added services aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver a more robust security solution to our customers.”
1Password is a venture capital-backed startup, having raised $920 million to date, including a round of $620 million on a $6.8 billion valuation in January 2022, a record investment for a Canadian company.
