Cosentino leverages AI to optimize global operations and drive efficiency

Cosentino Global, S.L.U., a family-owned company known for its sustainable and design-oriented construction materials, has found a powerful solution to optimize its complex global logistics and operations through AI implementation.

This integration of AI agents is seen as essential for meeting growing market demands.

Cosentino's Rafael Domene talks with theCUBE about AI implementation at Celosphere 24.

Cosentino’s Rafael Domene talks with theCUBE about how the company is using AI implementation to autonomously manage specific functions.

“It’s a key component of our strategy to understand our processes,” said Rafael Domene (pictured), global chief information officer of Cosentino.

Domene spoke with theCUBE Research’s Savannah Peterson and Rob Strechay at Celosphere 24, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how Cosentino is using AI agents to autonomously manage specific functions, such as credit management, with impressive speed and efficiency. (* Disclosure below.)

Embracing AI implementation for scalable growth

Cosentino initially deployed AI agents as a pilot, focusing on credit management — a critical area impacting revenue and customer satisfaction — with the support of Celonis. After a quick seven-week development cycle, the AI agent surpassed expectations, reducing process times significantly and enabling faster credit approvals, according to Domene.

“We said, ‘OK, in our processes, which one … makes sense and, if it works, can help us a lot,’” he said. “That’s why we decided on this initial autonomous AI engine for credit, because that is a key part of our processes. Our goal was to make an agent that could take care of a process … as good or even better than humans.”

With the AI agent’s early success in expediting credit approvals, Cosentino is now considering wider AI applications to manage routine tasks. This strategy would allow skilled employees to focus on higher-level strategic work.

“This is the tip of the iceberg,” Domene said. “We want to apply this to all our processes as much as we can. With Celonis, we [are] identifying all those opportunities … and [will] start building a digital workforce to fill those gaps that humans cannot fill.”

By offloading routine tasks to AI, Cosentino anticipates not only improved productivity and customer satisfaction, but also competitive advantages for consumers.

“That is the whole idea behind this, and we are completely sure it will help us to grow and to grow faster, provide better services to our customers and do things in a better way,” Domene said.
