1Password expands Microsoft collaboration with Sentinel and Entra ID integrations
Cybersecurity and password service provider 1Password LLC today announced that it has joined the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association and has integrated its Extended Access Management platform with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Entra ID.
The Microsoft Intelligent Security Association is a collaborative ecosystem of independent software vendors and managed security service providers that work together with Microsoft Corp. to enhance cybersecurity. Founded in 2018, MISA focuses on integrating partner solutions with Microsoft’s security products to help organizations predict, detect and respond to threats more efficiently.
The idea behind MISA is to foster collaboration among trusted security providers, with the aim of delivering intelligent, scalable security solutions that protect businesses against evolving cyber risks.
1Password’s membership sees the company integrate its Extended Access Management platform with Microsoft Sentinel and Entra ID to provide Microsoft customers with a comprehensive solution that can address these challenges by protecting both managed and unmanaged devices and applications. The integration helps enforce zero-trust security policies, offering flexibility in distributed work environments while ensuring robust data protection.
The integration with Microsoft Sentinel allows businesses to monitor and respond to security threats in real time by collecting data from 1Password’s Extended Access Management platform. The combination provides consolidated visibility into password-related security incidents, allowing organizations to track both managed and unmanaged applications from a single interface, improving overall threat detection.
The integration with Microsoft Entra ID focuses on device compliance to ensure that only healthy, compliant devices – whether corporate-owned or personal – can access sensitive company data. The integration helps organizations enforce zero trust by restricting access based on device health, further protecting critical information from potential breaches.
“The Microsoft Intelligent Security Association has grown into a vibrant ecosystem comprised of the most reliable and trusted security software vendors across the globe,” Maria Thomson, director of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association, said in a statement. “Our members, like 1Password, share Microsoft’s commitment to collaboration within the cybersecurity community to improve our customers’ ability to predict, detect, and respond to security threats faster.”
1Password is a venture capital-backed startup, having raised $920 million to date, including a round of $620 million on a $6.8 billion valuation in January 2022, a record investment for a Canadian company.
