Third-party cyber risk intelligence firm Black Kite Inc. today announced new cloud asset mapping capabilities that enhance vendor risk management and deliver new levels of visibility.
The new capabilities have been designed to deliver deeper insights into customer and vendor cloud infrastructure. With the new capabilities, customers can track and monitor their own cloud infrastructure while also gaining insights into vendor’s cloud environments.
The capabilities seek to address issues wherein the rising popularity of multicloud strategies has created a critical need for visibility and risk management across both large enterprises and small vendors. Black Kite argues that effective risk management demands full visibility, not just within a company’s own systems but across the entire vendor ecosystem.
Black Kite’s cloud asset mapping takes on the challenge by offering deep insights into vendor infrastructure risks and enabling cloud asset discovery across major providers such as Amazon Web Services Inc., Google Cloud and Microsoft Corp. with Azure. The service delivers high-quality data on vendor environments and assesses concentration risk to help customers identify frequently used cloud service providers and pinpoint potential single points of failure to strengthen risk mitigation.
“In today’s cloud-dominated world, risks extend beyond your four walls, so it’s important that organizations have visibility into their complete vendor ecosystem,” said Chuck Schauber, chief product officer at Black Kite. “With Black Kite, customers can map, monitor and mitigate cloud risks across their entire supply chain, ensuring no cloud-based vulnerability slips through the cracks so they can stay ahead of cyberattacks and better protect their organizations.”
Key features of the new cloud asset mapping capabilities include the ability to map and classify both vendor and internal assets to obtain a comprehensive understanding of potential risks. A cloud concentration analysis highlights the most commonly used providers, such as AWS, Google Cloud and Azure, to uncover concentration risks and vulnerabilities in the supply chain.
Organizations can make more informed decisions about vendor risks through the provision of detailed, cloud-specific insights across major platforms. Additionally, integration with Black Kite’s Supply Chain Risk Module enables users to visualize, assess and address cloud-related risks alongside other critical supply chain metrics.
Black Kite is a venture capital-backed startup that has raised $33 million across three rounds, according to Tracxn. Investors in the company include Volition Capital, Glasswing Ventures, Data Point Capital and Moore Capital Management LP.
