Aviatrix boosts security posture for AI workflows in partnership with Microsoft

Companies are bulking up their security posture in the age of artificial intelligence in an effort to meet rising security threats and network changes.

Networking has always been tricky, because it relies on access to the internet. Microsoft Azure, the multicloud powerhouse, is changing its structure so that companies have to choose their internet access. Aviatrix Systems Inc. has a security solution ready-made for those companies.

“Azure is going to be changing the way that applications access the internet,” said Chris McHenry (pictured), senior vice president of product marketing at Aviatrix. “Organizations are going to have to make a choice as to how they implement internet access. They call this the default egress change. You have a couple different choices. You can deploy in that gateway. You can deploy a firewall. We think that we have one of the best options out there, and I really advocate for customers who are in this situation where they need to make a change to internet access, take this as an opportunity to think about how you improve your security posture.”

McHenry spoke with theCUBE Research’s Rob Strechay at Microsoft Ignite 2024, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed multicloud security and Aviatrix’s new platform.

A security posture for AI applications

Aviatrix is a long-term partner of Microsoft, and will continue to provide further integrations with Azure. This includes multiple security measures to protect AI workflows that were announced at Ignite this week.

“We announced an integration with Microsoft Security Copilot, which is their AI threat hunting product,” McHenry said. “Now you can use Copilot to integrate any intelligence that Aviatrix has around your security posture into that workflow.”

The second integration Aviatrix is offering is with Microsoft’s Secure Service Edge so that customers can onboard their traffic onto Azure. Aviatrix has also announced Aviatrix Platform-as-a-Service, which will encompass all of the company’s security and networking capabilities, at the same cost as a first party or native service.

“With Aviatrix PaaS, we’re completely transforming the operational model,” McHenry explained. “You get to consume all of the advanced capabilities that Aviatrix brings to the table, the industry-leading, cloud-fire walling capabilities, the industry-leading network configuration and observability capabilities, and you get to do it with the same operational overhead.”
