Threat detection startup Tuskira launches with $28.5M from investors including Intel
Threat detection startup Tuskira today launched with an announcement that it has raised $28.5 million in funding to accelerate product innovation, expand integrations and refine its artificial intelligence technologies for seamless onboarding and improved cybersecurity outcomes.
The company was founded by Piyush Sharma, Om Moolchandani and Vipul Parmar, the team behind cloud security company Accurics, which was acquired by Tenable for $160 million in 2021. It offers an AI-powered unified threat defense platform that integrates fragmented security tools, optimizes controls and mitigates risk exposure in real-time.
Tuskira is pitched as “redefining how enterprises defend against cyberattack” by unifying tools with automated security control assessments and in-depth exploit analysts of vulnerabilities across code, cloud, applications and infrastructure. Tuskira says the combination delivers a holistic approach that strengthens defense postures.
The company’s platform has been designed to defend against AI-enhanced cyberattacks that have made traditional defense ineffective. Tuskira argues that businesses must move beyond reactive approaches and adopt proactive strategies to address vulnerabilities before they are exploited.
Its security mesh fills security gaps by not only unifying fragmented tools but also by optimizing controls and providing actionable insights that assist organizations in staying ahead of attackers. “At Tuskira, we are laser-focused on delivering real, measurable improvements to our customers’ defense capabilities,” said Tuskira Chief Executive Sharma. “We aren’t just plugging security gaps; we’re predicting and preventing potential attacks.”
Tuskira’s preemptive defense platform aggregates data from over 150 security tools into its unified security mesh to allow organizations to proactively address threats. The real-time AI insights offered by the platform help identify and mitigate risks before they are exploited by continuously assessing and closing gaps caused by vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and exposure points.
The platform also accelerates remediation by reducing response times from weeks to days, minimizing opportunities for attackers. Through the synchronization of existing tools, Tuskira enhances defense-in-depth, streamlines operations and improves return on investment through reduced redundancy and optimized tool utilization.
The funding round was led by Intel Capital Corp. and SYN Ventures Management, with Sorenson Capital Partners, Rain Capital Management and Wipro Ventures Pte. Ltd. also participating.
“By unifying security tools and enhancing controls, Tuskira’s platform positions businesses to stay ahead of attacks,” said Sunil Kurkure, managing director at Intel Capital. “Its solution has the potential to redefine proactive security and meet the demands of today’s evolving threat landscape by delivering insights that drive faster, more strategic decisions.”
