AI context intelligence startup Wald raises $4M, debuts data loss protection platform

Context intelligence startup Wald Inc. today launched its contextual artificial intelligence and data loss protection platform as it announced it has raised $4 million in seed funding.

The company’s first product, the Wald Context Intelligence Platform, connects businesses with AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Llama while protecting confidential data and managing regulatory compliance. The platform is context-aware and can accurately redact private information in business conversions while also reducing false positives and false negatives compared to existing data loss protection solutions.

The core of Wald’s offering is allowing enterprises to safely create content, generate code and query documents without exposing personally identifiable information or other proprietary data. The company’s tech offers access to leading AI models and also supports the ability to create secure custom assistants using internal knowledge bases for team collaboration.

“The rapid adoption of AI technology necessitates that businesses ensure their confidential data remains private,” said Wald co-founder and Chief Executive Vinay Goel. “Contextual data protection is the smart way to keep sensitive data safe when using generative AI platforms.”

Wald Context Intelligence operates inline and redacts any sensitive or proprietary information, inserts intelligence data so the AI model can return optimal results and then repopulates the sensitive data before a response is given to the user.

The company’s offering is ideal for any industry that has compliance requirements or large amounts of customer and proprietary data that use AI in their daily operations. With Wald, users can safely integrate generative AI into daily workflows.

The Context Intelligence platform is available as a business-to-business software-as-a-service offering for business users as well as an application programming interface for developers. The product is priced at $19.99 per user per month and includes unlimited access to the latest versions of the most popular AI models.

The launch of the platform came alongside the announcement that Wald has raised $4 million in seed funding. The funding round included participation from Inventus Capital Partners and Entrada Ventures.
