What to expect during the Cyber Resiliency Summit: Join theCUBE Jan. 14
Cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated every day, meaning organizations must rethink how they defend against and recover from digital attacks and pursue CISO cybersecurity leadership. As cyber leaders, CISOs must balance innovation with risk management and embrace AI-driven security solutions.
The Cyber Resiliency Summit Super Studio event, an exclusive event from theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, is set to explore how CISOs must evolve to drive security innovation and resilience amid these evolving cyber threats. Significant global cyber risks are impacting organizations everywhere, according to Christophe Bertrand, principal analyst at theCUBE Research.
“IT leaders and CISO must understand the scale and complexity of this issue, working together with technology to tackle this complex issue,” he said. “That’s what we will explore in our Cyber Resiliency Summit.”
How organizations are building cyber resiliency to withstand, recover and adapt to evolving threats will be explored during theCUBE’s Cyber Resiliency Summit event on Jan. 14. The event will also be a chance to gain expert insights, hear real-world use cases and discover strategies for CISO cybersecurity leadership.
Analysts with theCUBE will discuss emerging cybersecurity trends and AI-driven security solutions while talking with industry executives and thought leaders. Join us on Jan. 14 for our coverage of the Cyber Resiliency Summit event live on theCUBE.
CISO cybersecurity leadership is crucial
The cyber threat landscape is growing increasingly complex. It has led to an onslaught of hacking attempts for some companies, such as Amazon.com Inc., which has said it sees nearly 1 billion cyber threats a day. It’s a familiar challenge for many organizations these days. Developing cyber resilience presents a technical and operational challenge, compounded by the complexity of identifying the best solutions, according to Bertrand.
“We created this summit to help navigate these issues effectively with key IT infrastructure players so that IT leaders can benefit from guidance and best practices that foster resilience from the ground up,” he said.
It’s no longer an issue that is confined to the information technology departments at companies either. That was a main subject of conversation at the mWISE 2024 conference, hosted by Google LLC’s Mandiant, in September.
“Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT issue — it’s a strategic business concern,” said Kevin Mandia, founder of Mandiant and now a strategic adviser at Google Cloud, during a keynote address.
All of that has put the role of the CISO into the spotlight, as well as CISO cybersecurity leadership. These officers must integrate risk management into business strategy and foster cross-functional collaboration.
“The role of the CISO is expanding, absorbing responsibilities that go beyond traditional IT security,” according to theCUBE Research Executive Analyst John Furrier in a post after the conference.
During the keynote, Mandia noted that the CISO’s expanded duties could be thought of as “jump balls,” meaning they were areas of ambiguity. Those could fall under various leadership roles, such as AI security, data governance and supply chain security.
“With cybersecurity intersecting more areas of business, CISOs must now advocate for clear ownership of these responsibilities to avoid confusion and gaps in security coverage,” Furrier said.
Facing off increasingly complex threats
There have been no shortage of notable incidents in recent months tied to the need to strengthen cyber defenses, adapt to evolving AI-driven threats, and enhance organizational resilience against sophisticated attacks. The coming year is likely to bring increasingly advanced technologies and strategies to safeguard sensitive data, and companies such as Amazon Web Services Inc. have recently highlighted their efforts to boost cybersecurity.
Recently, Cloudflare Inc.’s 2024 year-in-review report highlighted a surge in cyberattacks targeting industries like gambling and finance, rising malicious email volumes and increased adoption of post-quantum cryptography. All told, the company said that underscored the pressing need for strengthened internet security infrastructure.
How major players in the sector are seeking to face off increasingly complex threats and evolving IT ecosystems will be studied during the Cyber Resiliency Summit event. TheCUBE will provide full coverage of innovation in today’s high-stakes cybersecurity landscape while facilitating conversations with industry executives and thought leaders about CISO cybersecurity leadership.
