AI and analytics are no longer just tools for efficiency — they are fundamental drivers of transformation across industries. As organizations navigate the complexities of generative and predictive AI, the ability to harness data for strategic decision-making is becoming a critical competitive advantage. The “AI & Analytics: Shaping the Future” event is set to explore the future of data AI analytics.
One of the challenges organizations have today is their data is everywhere and comprises objects, tables, files and other data types that use different formats, have different metadata associated with them, and generally are stovepiped, according to Dave Vellante, chief analyst at theCUBE Research.
“The modern data stack begins to address this problem from an infrastructure standpoint as cloud resources are much more easily deployed and managed,” Vellante said in a Breaking Analysis segment.
In this new era, Alteryx Inc. has been looking to bring a fresh vision for leveraging AI and data analytics to drive efficiency, foster innovation and enhance competitive growth as Andy MacMillan steps into his role as CEO. MacMillan will outline his strategic priorities and discuss Alteryx’s role in shaping the evolving AI analytics landscape during the event on Feb. 19.
Vellante and John Furrier, executive analyst at theCUBE Research, will discuss Alteryx’s AI vision with MacMillan, while distinguished professor Tom Davenport will talk about the critical distinctions between generative AI and analytics AI. Over the past number of months, Alteryx has been suggesting that modern enterprises have been increasingly leaning on hybrid data environments that provide better usability and connectivity between their cloud- and on-premises-based applications and systems. In November, the company said it was expanding its platform with support for hybrid data infrastructures as part of its fall 2024 update.
“These AI and productivity features allow them to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time discovering meaningful insights in their data,” said Jay Henderson, Alteryx senior vice president of product management, in November.
In a March 2024 survey, Alteryx found that 82% of business leaders agreed that AI was significantly impacting organizational goals, while 46% of board members stated generative AI was their top priority above all else. With that in mind, Alteryx has focused on leveraging AI to accelerate data-driven insights and business value, according to Paula Hansen, president and chief revenue officer of Alteryx.
“We not only want to learn what’s happening today, but we want to combine that with knowledge to say, ‘What could happen tomorrow and what decisions and actions should we take prescriptively as a result of all this knowledge?’” Hansen said in a recent interview with Furrier.
