Cinelytic Inc., the developer of an artificial intelligence-driven content analytics platform for the entertainment industry, Tuesday announced the acquisition of Jumpcut Media, a firm that builds intellectual property and audience management tools.
Cinelytic provides a comprehensive solution for entertainment studios, assisting with filmmaking from script generation to production, evaluation, screening, and distribution.
The company’s products include an AI-powered scripting tool called Callaia, which works alongside scriptwriters to provide market recommendations and acts as a screenplay consultant. Cinelytic’s project management tool delivers insights into content at every stage alongside talent analytics, revenue forecasting and optimization for distribution strategies. Finally, a tool named RightsTrade can be used to evaluate, screen, buy and sell content rights for projects.
Jumpcut delivers what it calls a “copilot for script coverage” named ScriptSense, an AI solution that helps studios develop their screenplays, manuscripts and creative notes to determine how to best use them to produce top-tier creative content. It permits private collaboration between writers, management and industry professionals to make data-driven decisions about their product with audience attention and historical best practices in mind.
“We recognize the challenges studio executives are facing today, from budget constraints to navigating evolving market dynamics,” said Tobias Queisser, co-founder and chief executive of Cinelytic. “Our AI solutions provide the critical business insights and productivity tools needed to increase accuracy and efficiency – without impacting the creative process.”
Tobias added that the addition of Jumpcut’s tool would help build on Cinelytic’s already existing stable of AI solutions to close the gap between business needs and creative ideation by enhancing scriptwriters’ ability to draft and work while also giving business management insights into audience alignments and market potential.
Jumpcut’s tool boasts over 400 studios and agencies signed on in the past year alone, the company said. Its platform has been used to assess and manage more than 10,000 film and television projects.
“By joining forces with Cinelytic, we are reinforcing the notion that AI should support creativity through better business intelligence and productivity,” Jumpcut founder and CEO Kartik Hosanagar said.
