What to expect during Nvidia’s GTC event: Join theCUBE March 21

AI and accelerated computing are fueling a new wave of innovation, but as adoption surges, so do debates around regulation and AI’s long-term sustainability. Questions are mounting: Has AI’s mainstream momentum already plateaued? How will Nvidia Corp. defend its lead after a powerhouse 2024? Against this backdrop, the evolution of its Blackwell architecture — and the possibility of next-gen GPUs taking center stage — makes this year’s GTC a pivotal moment for the industry.

With that in mind, the Nvidia GTC event is set to explore Nvidia Corp.’s latest innovations in AI hardware and software. This year’s event comes on the heels of what was a very impactful iteration of the event in 2024, according to Dave Vellante, chief analyst at theCUBE Research.

“In our view, GTC24 was one of the most important events in the history of the technology industry, rivalling Steve Jobs’ iPod and iPhone launches,” Vellante said. “The event was not the largest, but in our opinion it was the most significant in terms of its reach, vision, ecosystem impact and broad-based recognition that the AI era will permanently change the world.”

GTC25 is expected to once again push the boundaries of AI, accelerated computing and intelligent robotics. The event is also due to examine the implications of Nvidia’s new technologies, particularly the Blackwell architecture.

During the event, John Furrier, executive analyst at theCUBE Research, will discuss the future of AI and high-performance computing. On March 21, join theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, for our exclusive coverage of the Nvidia GTC event. (* Disclosure below.)

Blackwell architecture growth

It’s likely that GTC 2025 will be remembered as the moment that AI truly went mainstream, according to Vellante. That includes unveiling next-generation GPUs beyond Blackwell to accelerating robotics and digital twins in every sector.

“We believe Nvidia’s new architecture, codenamed ‘Rubin,’ will outshine anything we’ve seen so far, but at the same time, we expect a focus on inference at the edge and other mainstream use cases,” Vellante said. “We believe GTC 2025 will set another milestone, signaling a future where extreme parallel computing is not just confined to the largest companies, but an everyday reality for all firms.”

Since last year’s event, it’s been a whirlwind series of months for Nvidia, whether that’s signaling more artificial intelligence-driven growth in 2025 or aiming to create a $1.4T data center market in a decade of AI. In a recent conference call with analysts, Nvidia’s Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress said she was expecting a “significant ramp” in sales of Blackwell during the current quarter.

“Blackwell sales were led by large cloud service providers, which represented approximately 50% of our data center revenue,” Kress said.

How Nvidia’s developments are poised to transform industries such as healthcare, automotive and entertainment will be a main focus of the Nvidia GTC 2025 event.
