AI Agent Builder Summit preview: How agentic AI is transforming software engineering

Ascendion Inc. will be prominently featured at theCUBE Research’s AI Agent Builder Summit, highlighting its innovative approach to agentic AI and intelligent software engineering platforms.

Enterprise digital transformation is accelerating, driven by the rapid evolution from AI assistants to more sophisticated AI agents. Businesses are increasingly leveraging agentic AI to modernize legacy systems, enhance operational efficiency, and transform data infrastructure into intelligent digital architectures.

“An agent is an entity that can operate independently and autonomously, doing the work for you,” said Arun Varadarajan (pictured, right), chief commercial officer of Ascendion.

I recently spoke with Varadarajan prior to the AI Agent Builder Summit, set for April 16. We discussed the significance of this software engineering evolution. (* Disclosure below.)

AI agents redefining enterprise software engineering

Ascendion pioneered an innovative digital engineering model — Engineering to the Power of AI — significantly transforming software development processes. Utilizing advanced agentic AI, the company enables software engineers to deliver higher quality outputs more quickly and consistently. Varadarajan explained this revolutionary shift, stating:

“Now, think of the agentic model. It is very different,” he said. “In the agentic model, you as a human are an observer, a validator, and more of a purveyor, if you will, of these agents that are doing work for you.”

Ascendion’s approach addresses key issues enterprises face: trust, speed and capital. Its AI-driven platform provides transparency, ensuring stakeholders have real-time visibility into software engineering processes, significantly reducing time to market and operational costs. Varadarajan highlighted the practical impact of this approach, stating:

“One of our clients took almost three to four months to convert Perl scripts, and we were able to do it in a matter of a week with the same amount of work,” he said. “So, it’s a dramatic reduction in time to market, a dramatic reduction in terms of cost, and fundamentally time to value.”

Central to Ascendion’s offerings is the Ascendion AVA+ platform, which provides modular studios tailored for various roles in software engineering, from developers to product managers. AVA+ facilitates the seamless integration of AI services within existing engineering environments, promoting consistency and high-quality outputs across the entire software development lifecycle. Summarizing the transformative potential of agentic AI, Varadarajan underscored:

“Software will build software. That’s how we see it,” he added.

Ascendion’s pioneering strategies set a benchmark in how agentic AI redefines software engineering.
