Permiso launches unified identity security platform for cloud and on-premises environments

Identity threat detection and response startup Permiso Security Inc. today launched a new platform that combines identity risk assessment and threat detection into a single solution for both cloud and on-premises environments.

Permiso’s new platform addresses gaps left by fragmented tools by offering a complete inventory of human and nonhuman identities, their risk postures and real-time monitoring for suspicious behavior.

Securing human and nonhuman identities is key to the new offering, and Permiso argues that doing so has never been more critical. According to Permiso’s State of Identity Security Survey Report 2024, 45% of organizations are concerned or extremely concerned about their current tools being able to detect and protect against identity security threats, and 45% also reported an identity security incident in the last year.

Permiso’s new platform combines threat-informed risk posture controls to help teams identify identities that are most likely to be compromised, with added threat detection to detect identity compromise as it happens. The single solution inventories all identities and monitors their risk posture, along with detecting suspicious and malicious behavior of those identities. The result allows enterprises to consolidate their investments in identity security that covers more of the applications and services in their environment, according to the company.

“Identity security is no longer just about securing credentials; it’s about understanding the full scope of human and non-human interactions within an organization,” said co-founder and co-Chief Executive Jason Martin. “With the launch of our new platform, we are setting a new standard for how enterprises protect their most valuable assets.”

As part of the new platform, Permiso’s Universal Identity Graph allows security teams to create a graph relationship of all credentials and identities across their environments to gain a complete view of who’s accessing what and whether the behavior is normal or suspicious.

In addition to the Universal Identity Graph, Permiso’s new identity security platform provides enterprises with a comprehensive inventory of all human and non-human identities across environments, proactive detection and enumeration of identity vulnerabilities to mitigate risks before they can be exploited and continuous monitoring for suspicious access patterns and behavioral anomalies.

The new identity security platform builds upon Permiso’s existing Identity Threat Detection and Response capabilities, which provide coverage across identity providers, infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service applications.
