Chronosphere introduces Logs 2.0 to reduce observability data noise

Cloud-native observability company Chronosphere Inc. today announced the launch of Chronosphere Logs 2.0, an upgraded solution that delivers control over data and helps customers boost signal, remove noise and reduce costs at large scale in cloud-native environments.

The release is part of a unified observability experience that offers a single platform to correlate logs with metrics, events and traces, thus dramatically reducing mean time to resolution, according to the company.

Chronosphere Logs helps developers resolve incidents faster while controlling costs at scale at a time that enterprise log data is growing at 250% year-over-year, according to a study from the company. Logs 2.0 cuts through the noise with new usage and volume analysis, as well as proactive recommendations to reduce data before it’s stored.

The upgraded offering also overcomes the issue with legacy tools that Chronoshpere says force tradeoffs among cost, visibility and speed. Chronosphere Logs 2.0, in contrast, help teams cut through the noise by revealing what data is actually used. It provides proactive recommendations on how to reduce or transform it, such as converting logs into metrics, so they can retain value, lower costs and accelerate investigations.

In addition to providing consolidated metrics, traces and logs into a single platform, the new release includes a “Usage Analysis” function. It further separates the “signal from the noise” by analyzing all incoming log patterns and determining what data is actually being used and how.

Other capabilities in Logs 2.0 give teams deeper insight and control over their observability data. Teams can retain the data that matters most with granular visibility into log usage and volume, while eliminating unnecessary noise to optimize performance and cost.

Logs 2.0 is also built for scale and supports the ingestion and processing of petabytes of data daily with 99.99% uptime. By consolidating logs, metrics, events and traces into a unified interface, Chronosphere enables faster, more efficient investigations and a streamlined troubleshooting experience across the entire metric, event, logs and traces stack.

“Since day one, we’ve been focused on putting customers in control of their observability data,” said Alok Bhide, head of product innovation at Chronosphere. “With Chronosphere Logs, we’re extending that same control and efficiency we’ve delivered for metrics and tracing to logging, helping developers cut data overload, manage cost at scale, and unify observability workflows.”
