Vertesia launches autonomous agent builder for multistep business tasks

Vertesia Inc., the developer of a low-code platform for enterprise-grade generative artificial intelligence applications, today introduced a new Autonomous Agent Builder for business users that provides a way to develop and deploy AI agents.

The company’s new platform allows business users to stand up AI agents that can achieve objectives autonomously using an advanced toolset. They can think, plan and execute even the most complicated business processes, find information, create documents, and analyze and modify content.

“Agents can perform tasks exponentially faster than humans,” said Chris McLaughlin, chief revenue officer at Vertesia. “But they aren’t magic, they’re software. And they are only as capable as the tools they have access to and the underlying platform on which they operate.”

AI agents are a growing trend in the industry, with many companies building their own agentic AI platforms. Vertesia said what sets its platform apart is its comprehensive set of tools that provides critical infrastructure, enterprise-grade security, observability and control that agents need to succeed the moment users start building them.

That includes intelligent content processing that allows them to ingest the unstructured content that businesses run on including PDFs, spreadsheets and other metadata based on the company’s recently released Semantic Document Preparation. Semantic DocPrep is a service that increases AI reliability and greatly reduces hallucinations, or errors in large language models, by preparing the underlying data so that the AI model can understand the data in a context that it can best connect with.

The company also provides configurable generative AI tasks, which give flexible support to any inference provider or work across any model family or public cloud.

For truly complex business goals, Vertesia said users can access advanced agentic workflows that permit them to spin up and spin down numerous AI agents orchestrated to dynamically adapt with changing circumstances and perform parallel tasks.

“Everyone wants to take advantage of autonomous AI agents right now — but the reality is that you can’t build a real one for production use without an incredibly strong foundation,” said Grant Spradlin, Vertesia’s vice president of product. “Without enterprise-grade workflow and robust tools, your agents may start, but they’ll never finish or provide the expected results.”

Agents are an emerging capability for AI that is being used by multiple industries to streamline business strategy.

In financial services, AI agents can review earnings call transcripts and generate summaries in minutes before investors have gotten their coffee. In retail, they can localize product content, streamline marketing work and support demand forecasting, all without human intervention. In healthcare, agents can help increase the accuracy of claims submissions and automate resubmissions to help reduce denials to help providers assist more patients.
