By changing how organizations store, manage, and utilize information, data infrastructure modernization fuels agility, innovation and competitiveness in today’s digital economy.
Modernizing data infrastructure is critical for organizations seeking greater agility, innovation and competitiveness in the digital economy. Across regions such as EMEA, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, NetApp Inc. is driving this shift through hybrid cloud solutions, strategic partnerships and services tailored to local market needs, according to Giovanna Sangiorgi (pictured), senior vice president and general manager for EMEA and LATAM at NetApp.
NetApp’s Giovanna Sangiorgi talks with theCUBE about the impact of data infrastructure modernization.
“[Artificial intelligence] and sustainability are probably what characterizes the European Union from the rest of the world, and obviously this has a tremendous impact on the choices that the customer needs to go around the data infrastructure,” Sangiorgi said. “We don’t have the same requirements in the Middle East. The intelligent data infrastructure that NetApp offers, optimized and protected by intelligence, is the solution for all of these challenges.”
Sangiorgi spoke with theCUBE’s Rebecca Knight and Rob Strechay at the “Architecting Outcomes in the Era of Intelligence” event, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed why NetApp is in high gear to offer data infrastructure modernization across the globe. (* Disclosure below.)
AI workloads are inherently dynamic and resource-intensive, requiring a flexible and scalable framework to support constant evolution. Data infrastructure modernization is essential to meet those demands and unlock the full potential of AI, according to Sangiorgi.
“As we enter the AI domain, what is absolutely key now is to start talking with different personas,” she said. “In some instances where organizations are big enough, there are AI teams that are created, and these are the people that we need to win their minds. We need to create trust, and this is definitely one of the transformations we are going through because clearly in the past we were more used to speaking with the infrastructure people or the storage people.”
As a leading provider of hybrid cloud data services and data management solutions, NetApp has a robust global presence. The company plays a pivotal role in data infrastructure modernization, hybrid cloud adoption, and AI-driven innovation, tailoring its offerings to the needs and preferences of each region, Sangiorgi pointed out.
“I joined NetApp three years ago and I have the responsibility of the organization across Europe, Middle East and Africa,” she said. “We have everything and the opposite of everything, starting from the way of doing business, the cultural aspect … the level of maturity of the market … the ability to invest and the development of the customer themselves. We also have different go-to-market models because in some places we are present with our sales organization.”
