Data privacy startup Didomi acquires Sourcepoint to advance consent and compliance

Didomi SAS, a Paris-based startup that builds data privacy solutions for the enterprise, today announced that it has acquired Sourcepoint Technologies Inc., a data privacy technology company that combines user consent and data collection.

Founded in 2017, Didomi offers consent management solutions that assist companies in collecting, managing and respecting user privacy across websites, apps and other interfaces. It’s essentially the engine behind the banners and popups that appear when a user visits a website that asks, “Can we use cookies for analytics?”

User selections such as “Accept all,” “Reject all” or other answers are saved securely by Didomi on its servers. The company supports numerous regulatory frameworks and authorities, including the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation and California’s California Privacy Rights Act. This enables companies to avoid complex internal teams for compliance, while also managing audit trails and adhering to legal requirements based on the user’s region.

Founded in 2015, Sourcepoint provides a similar platform and claims a clientele with strong publisher support market share, including more than 200 global enterprise customers. According to the companies, this deal will unify the two established startups by partnering them into a single authority in the privacy-respecting data collection and utilization industry. With the addition of Sourcepoint, the new company will reach more than 1,700 customers globally, with an increasing footprint across the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe.

“The marketing and advertising landscape continues to evolve with privacy at the forefront and with the growing influence of AI,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Romain Gauthier. “Didomi and Sourcepoint are perfectly aligned around a mission to create the most advanced privacy infrastructure aimed at helping businesses confidently balance user trust, regulatory compliance and performance outcomes.”

This news comes shortly after Didomi raised €72 million, around $84 million, led by global private equity firm Marlin Equity Partners in April. The company used the proceeds to acquire Addingwell SAS, a server-side tracking platform designed to enhance digital marketing campaigns by improving data accuracy and providing regulatory compliance support.

The acquisition of Sourcepoint is also backed by Marlin Equity Partners and is part of Didomi’s expansion strategy to build out its privacy infrastructure portfolio. The company said that Addingwell’s services will now be available for both Didomi and Sourcepoint customers.
