Malwarebytes expands cloud platform with real-time email security capabilities

Cybersecurity software firm Malwarebytes Inc. today announced the launch of ThreatDown Email Security, a new email security module designed to combat email-based threats.

The new module in the ThreatDown product family is powered by artificial intelligence technology from Israeli phishing protection startup Ironscales Ltd. and extends protection beyond the endpoint to allow users to manage both endpoint and email security from a single, unified console.

ThreatDown Email Security has been designed to help lean information technology teams and security service providers protect users from increasingly sophisticated email attacks, particularly phishing, while reducing operational complexity and overhead. The module is fully integrated with Malwarebytes’ cloud-based security operations platform Nebula and multi-tenant consoles for management console for managed service providers OneView to minimize management complexity for businesses.

“The launch of ThreatDown Email Security, in partnership with Ironscales, marks a significant milestone in our mission to protect organizations with effective, easy-to-use cybersecurity solutions,” said founder and Chief Executive Marcin Kleczynski. “By unifying endpoint and email protection in a single platform, IT teams can now detect, protect and respond to both endpoint and email threats faster and with far less complexity.”

Key benefits of ThreatDown Email Security include the use of adaptive AI threat detection that uses machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision and behavioral analysis to accurately identify and block advanced phishing attacks.

Users gain access to real-time, inbox-level protection that automatically removes or quarantines malicious emails across all inboxes, even after delivery, minimizing exposure and reducing the need for manual intervention.

The new service is also being pitched as easy to deploy, with native application program interface integration for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace allowing for setup in just four clicks, without the need for MX record changes, agents or additional consoles.

ThreatDown Email Security capabilities are also continually enhanced through crowdsourced threat intelligence from more than 16,000 global security teams, combined with human-in-the-loop feedback to ensure ongoing adaptability and effectiveness.

The combination between the MalwareBytes and Ironscales delivers “a comprehensive, enterprise-grade email and endpoint security ecosystem that empowers businesses of all sizes to defend against evolving threats at scale while maintaining operational efficiency,” noted Eyal Benishti, founder and CEO of Ironscales.
