Identity management provider Ping Identity Corp. today announced new just-in-time privileged access capabilities within the Ping Identity Platform that provide capabilities across all three categories of identity: access management, identity governance and administration, and privileged access management.
The new access capabilities come with centralized identity control in a single platform to give customers a more comprehensive suite of solutions to protect and manage their digital environments..
The PAM capabilities allow for more secure control over exploding cloud permissions by employing a Trusted Platform Module to protect privileged sessions at the device level, which can be both agentless and agent-based, depending on customer needs.
Ping’s privileged access offerings allow end-users to securely request and obtain time-bound access to cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services Inc., the Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Corp.’s Azure, as well as on-premises servers, databases, Kubernetes and other critical resources, all through a user-friendly portal that aligns with zero-trust best practices.
The offering handles authentication in a passwordless manner across resources, including Server SSH, RDP and identity access management, removing the need for static credentials such as SSH keys or RDP passwords.
The solution also supports compliance by providing session recordings and audit logs for privileged access, helping organizations meet standards such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, System and Organization Controls 2, the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
For hybrid infrastructure, the solution offers granular, just-in-time access to entitlements, roles, and resources across AWS, Azure, GCP and Kubernetes, applying context-aware policies and real-time authorization to ensure secure and efficient access control.
“This is a pivotal moment supporting our mission to place identity at the heart of security – not just to drive more secure innovation, but to help organizations build for long-term trust,” said Ping founder and Chief Executive Andre Durand. “We’re at a critical inflection point, where AI is reshaping the landscape and eroding trust. With these added privileged access capabilities, Ping is uniquely positioned to secure every identity, across every core category, with confidence and scale.”
Ping Identity has been owned by Thoma Bravo ssince a $2.8 billion acquisition deal in August 2022.
