Workflow automation is reshaping business operations, enabling companies to move faster, operate smarter and build resilience while reducing manual effort. It’s no longer just about convenience — it’s about ensuring that critical processes connect seamlessly across systems, unlocking efficiencies that directly impact customer experience and bottom-line results.
This shift is evident in how organizations are deploying automation to streamline the most routine but essential tasks. Instead of spending hours reconciling data, updating records or coordinating between departments, automation can handle the heavy lifting behind the scenes. That frees employees to focus on higher-value work, while also ensuring accuracy and consistency in workflows. For companies such as Dispatch Integration Ltd., these gains translate into immediate improvements in order fulfillment, warehouse updates and delivery scheduling — all triggered automatically with minimal human intervention, according to Cameron Hay (pictured), co-founder and chief executive officer of Dispatch.

Dispatch’s Cameron Hay talks with theCUBE about how workflow automation drives impact and efficiency.
“We are a boutique professional services company that focuses on workflow automation,” Hay said. “Essentially what we do is work with our clients to bring their aspirations to life using Workato. We think of this like a Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Sometimes we have to start with just integrations and then you can build workflow automations on top of that and begin to orchestrate people interacting with data and interacting with systems in an automated way and moving work to where people live. We’re at this next phase where we’re starting to orchestrate people and agents and systems and data to do some really remarkable things.”
Hay spoke with theCUBE’s Savannah Peterson and Rob Strechay at the WOW: World of Workato event, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how Workato drives workflow automation for Dispatch, streamlining processes and boosting efficiency. (* Disclosure below.)
Dispatch Integration achieves workflow automation through a business process approach, focusing on end-to-end workflows rather than isolated tasks. By mapping critical processes, such as order management, inventory updates and delivery scheduling, the company ensures automation drives maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction, according to Hay.
“We have a business process orientation as opposed to a technology orientation, which means we have to really understand how work is done, who does what, and what systems do they have to do that work and what data do they need to do that work?” he said. “You often see even in very modern tech-forward organizations, people are swivel-chairing all the time. We break that down into understanding, ‘Where is the gap in the process? Where are the things that we can optimize or eliminate steps and so on?’ We have to start there because if you don’t want swivel-chair agents, you have to fix the process first and then the agents can fit in, in this streamlined overall workflow.”
Artificial intelligence enhances Dispatch’s workflow automation by adding intelligence, efficiency and predictive power. AI identifies repetitive tasks, such as order entry, invoice processing and delivery scheduling and automates them, according to Hay.
“I don’t think there’s a customer or a client in an industry that is not becoming obsessed with AI,” he said. “Everybody is thinking about it and everybody’s thinking about how to apply it in their context. Part of the exciting journey is to figure out, where is AI going to add value? Where are the other things that Workato brings to bear actually in terms of automation and integrations where the value’s delivered? It’s an AND equation; it’s not an OR equation. It’s how do we bring all of these things together to deliver value?”
