Security orchestration company Orchid Security Inc. today announced new capabilities in its identity-first orchestration platform that are aimed at reducing fragmentation and accelerating identity governance and administration adoption.
The new release, officially SailPoint Technologies Inc.-certified, has been designed to address one of the greatest challenges in enterprise identity and access management today: the operational pain created by fragmented identity management. Orchid helps enterprises cut through operational pain, expose hidden risks and speed onboarding into governance systems by starting at the application itself, where identity truth originates.
The issue the release is seeking to address is whereby enterprises are struggling to continuously onboard applications into the IAM stack — a difficult task by design, given shadow information technology, legacy applications, outdated documentation, lack of standardization and the absence of continuous application inventory. Orchid argues that the challenge is amplified with every application patch, regulatory shift or IAM adjustment, each multiplying blind spots, ending in app-to-IAM fragmentation, as many applications and controls remain undiscovered, unmanaged, or only partially governed.
“For years, our IAM field of view has been narrowing,” said Chief Product Officer. “Identity operations are fragmented by design and that fragmentation is driving both operational inefficiency and risk. The only way forward is to start from the source, the applications themselves. Orchid provides the infrastructure to see and control IAM, turning dark matter into managed, auditable identity.”
Orchid now delivers the building blocks for enterprise-wide governance by combining continuous risk analysis, automated onboarding data and seamless IGA integration. The result is that organizations can accelerate governance adoption while cutting operational overhead.
Features include application discovery, with dynamic visibility across the full application estate, with baseline risk scoring to prioritize governance.
Deep application analysis offers automatic capture of authentication flows and authorization models, with onboarding data pre-populated into IGA questionnaires and application integration gives one-click connections to stream application data directly into IGA platforms, cutting integration timelines from months to minutes.
While only launching today, in testing, Orchid customers are reporting 90% faster application onboarding, 75% lower professional services cost and 83% remediation of identity exposures without recoding.
For SailPoint customers, Orchid says that the biggest win is speed as application owners are no longer bottlenecks in the onboarding process and IAM teams no longer waste time chasing them for questionnaires, freeing both sides to focus on higher-value work.
The new release will be demonstrated at the SailPoint Navigate conference in Austin, Texas, from Sept. 29 through Oct. 2.
Orchid was previously in the news in January when it raised $36 million in funding to build on its work using large language models to help enterprise businesses manage their cybersecurity posture. The round was led by Team8 Capital and Intel Capital Inc.
