Vambe AI Inc., the creator of a conversational business-to-consumer commerce platform that automates sales operations and customer support, said today it has raised $14 million in an early-stage funding.
The Series A round was led by Monashees and saw participation from a host of other investors, including Cathay Latam, Atlantico, Tekton Ventures, Chile Ventures, SkyDeck Berkeley, Nazca and M13.
The startup, which is focused on Latin America, says its mission is to help midsized B2C companies scale their businesses and grow without hiring an army of sales and support staff. As businesses grow, they often struggle to get to grips with the surging volumes of customer interactions across multiple communications channels due to the difficulties in hiring and training new staff.
Vambe provides businesses with an alternative in the form of AI agents. It has created an AI-native commerce platform that can manage the customer journey autonomously. It can automate the full commerce cycle, beginning with demand generation in digital advertising and ending in customer retention.
Whereas other AI tools simply provide answers to questions, Vambe is all about executing operations. Its fleet of AI agents can schedule appointments, make updates to customer relationship management systems, process payments, qualify leads, nurture opportunities and coordinate everything across all of the systems a business relies on. It allows humans to work side-by-side with AI agents, which will hand off conversations to specialist sales and support teams when a conversation can no longer be automated.
More critically, Vambe also recognizes that AI agents are very complicated things to set up, manage and maintain. For that reason it offers more than just a platform – it also provides strategic consulting and continuous support to its customers to ensure they get the biggest payoff from their agentic investment. By helping customers get around the intricacies of deploying agents in their go-to-market funnels, the startup claims that it can deliver real revenue impact within just weeks.
That explains why Vambe has grown its revenue by an average of 17% month-over-month throughout the last year. During that time, it has grown its staff from 22 employees to more than 80, enabling it to deliver measurable results for numerous clients.
For instance, the sustainable Apple marketplace Reuse says Vambe’s AI agents were able to outsell its human sales representatives. They achieved 70% higher conversion rates and generated 220% more revenue on average, helping the company to triple its sales over the last year. Meanwhile, the fintech company Global66 improved the responsiveness of its customer support services fourfold using Vambe’s agents.
Vambe co-founder and Chief Executive Nicolás Camhi said his company proves that agentic AI can have an immediate impact when it’s applied in the right way. “Companies know they need this technology, but they don’t know how to implement it reliably,” he said. “We solved this by building not just a technology platform but a complete solution that includes consulting, training, change management and continuous support.”
Moving forward, Vambe has crafted a strategic growth plan that will see it scale up its operations in its primary markets of Chile and Mexico, where it will expand its customer-facing teams. At the same time, it’s also planning to launch operations in Brazil and try to penetrate the largest market in Latin America.
In addition, some of the funds from today’s round will be used to develop a new “agent-to-agent recommendation ad engine” that will allow agents from different companies to collaborate on advertising campaigns.
Monashees General Partner Marcelo Lima believes Vambe can transform the way B2C companies serve their customers. “Its exceptional early traction, deep customer love and its WhatsApp-first platform that automates nearly all complex customer interactions gives us the conviction that it will unlock AI-driven growth for B2C companies across the region,” he said.
