Behavior-tracking software firm Amplitude Inc. today unveiled an expansion of its artificial intelligence analytics platform with the launch of Automated Insights, a new capability designed to replicate the work of expert analysts in minutes rather than days.
The new service has been designed to assist with the issue where, when product teams detect unusual movements in their data, determining the root cause often requires time-consuming manual analysis across experiments, feature launches and marketing campaigns. Automated Insights removes the bottleneck by using AI to investigate changes, connect relevant business context and generate findings and recommendations automatically, without human intervention.
Automated Insights analyzes multiple inputs at once, including funnels, cohorts and behavioral shifts, to allow teams to move directly from detection to action.
When anomalies or performance changes occur, the platform automatically explores correlated factors such as specific product updates, campaign activity, or audience segments. It then surfaces clear explanations for what happened, why it happened and what actions teams should consider next.
The idea is to eliminate the lag between signal and insight that Amplitude says often causes organizations to miss the window for meaningful optimization.
“AI has the power to revolutionize how we work. Just like how Cursor used AI to reimagine coding, boost coding productivity and make it accessible to everyone” Janaki Vivrekar, a software engineer at Amplitude, said in a blog post. “We believe our new AI Analytics Platform will do the same to create a new generation of analysts.”
Along with the launch of Automated Insights, Amplitude also today announced that its Model Context Protocol connector is now natively accessible inside OpenAI Group PBC’s ChatGPT service. That allows users to query their product, conversion, retention and churn data using plain language directly through ChatGPT.
The integration connects Amplitude’s behavioral analytics layer directly to AI-powered interfaces. That in turn enables teams to ask conversational questions about their data and receive real-time, context-aware answers backed by production-grade analytics.
The enhancements announced today are aimed at helping organizations keep pace with increasingly complex digital products and faster release cycles, as traditional analytics workflows struggle to keep up. Amplitude believes it can give product, growth and marketing teams the ability to act on data with far greater speed and confidence by automating both detection and explanation.
