Sentra.app raises $5M to build AI teammate to organize enterprise memory

Sentra.app, also known as Dynamis Labs Inc., today raised $5 million in seed funding co-led by a16z speedrun and Together Fund to build an artificial intelligence teammate to organize enterprise knowledge.

Additional investors in the round included Parable, Precursor Ventures, Inovia, Backwards Capital and Antigravity Capital, alongside a number of prominent industry angels. Sentra also noted that it’s already running a paid proof-of-concept with a US-based subsidiary of SoftBank Corp.

The company’s platform is an AI teammate that talks, speaking with its own voice, to everyone in the company, all the way from execs to interns. It is designed to create hundreds of trusted touch points every week. This develops a knowledge graph of unique conversations and does what no human can do: It talks to everyone in the organization and absorbs every detail.

Teams can invite Sentra into team meetings, Slack channels, Jira, calendar and human resources systems to enrich its awareness. The company stressed that its participation in any part of the company is always consensual.

The AI teammate’s multi-agent architecture allows it to run in parallel and understand how the organization works together while mapping the network of interactions. Its job is simple: Keep everyone on the same page and bring them together.

If an employee wants to recall something from a meeting, they need only ask. It can recall spoken commitments, proactively remind at the right time and provide context. It will even personalize job assignments including meeting briefings, custom reports or just keep users in the loop. This could all include just-in-time information or answers to role-specific questions.

The company particularly stressed that the agent is not designed to stress out employees or make them work harder. It’s not there to monitor them, make them feel watched or track them. The agent’s job is to assist them when needed and get out of their way. It will not replace managers but instead helps augment their jobs by acting as a “second brain,” which can remember things that people often forget.

“Sentra acts as the brain of your business, allowing real-time, true understanding of what your teams do,” said Andrey Starenky, chief technology officer. “It optimizes organizational thinking, enabling effective leadership at scale.”

Sentra is launching into a space that is quickly filling up with agentic AI teammates. For example, Leena AI lnc. develops voice-enabled agentic AI “colleagues” that can automate everyday tasks for employees, including waking up in the morning, checking into meetings, taking notes, sending emails and completing rote workflows.

As adoption continues, the presence of AI in the workplace will become more prevalent. It already persists across most enterprise applications in text form. It performs automation for writing and knowledge work. The addition of voice capability and interaction recollection is becoming the next horizon that AI startups are beginning to embark on.
