Enterprise identity protection and cyber resilience company Semperis Ltd. today announced that it has acquired MightyID Inc., an identity resilience specialist for cloud identity providers Okta Inc. and Ping Identity Corp., for an undisclosed sum.
MightyID was founded in 2023 with a vision to ensure that organizations can keep authentication and access systems running no matter what failures or attacks occur and, in doing so, prevent costly downtime that could disrupt business operations. Core to the company’s offering is to take on a critical gap in modern identity and access management: resilience.
The company provides continuous backups and automated restores of IAM data to ensure that every user, group, policy and configuration in a customer’s identity platform is regularly backed up so it can be restored quickly if something goes wrong. MightyID also goes further than basic backups by enabling granular recovery that allows administrators to restore specific identity elements without disrupting the rest of the environment.
Along with support for backups and restoring, MightyID offers migration capabilities that support organizations when they need to switch identity providers, for example, moving from one cloud identity provider to another. The company automates and simplifies the process by reducing errors and ensuring smooth transitions without leaving teams locked out or disrupting access.
MightyID also offers failover and resilience support that kicks in if a primary identity system goes down due to outage, attack, or misconfiguration.
For Semperis, the acquisition will allow it to extend true cyber resilience with identity-first security and crisis management for environments spanning hybrid Microsoft Active Directory.
The integration of MightyID into the Semperis identity resilience platform will deliver broad, comprehensive capabilities for organizations managing hybrid identity systems, including continuous exposure management, automated remediation, fast recovery of hybrid identity systems, and turnkey crisis management.
“Effective defense means resilience — not just prevention — so operations can continue, even under attack,” said Semperis Chief Executive Mickey Bresman. “This acquisition advances our leadership in identity-driven security and crisis management, helping organizations ensure mission continuity in the face of modern cyberattacks.”
There are no public records of MightyID having raised any venture capital or other forms of external funding.
