Vibe coding security company Backslash Security Inc. revealed today that it has raised $19 million in new funding to expand its research and development talent and operations, deepen platform capabilities and scale up its go-to-market presence in the U.S. and Europe.
Founded in 2022, Backslash focuses on protecting what it describes as the emerging vibe coding attack surface. That’s rapidly growing as organizations adopt artificial intelligence coding agents and developer tools at large scale. The company is built to give security teams visibility and control over how software is created, modified and deployed in these AI-driven workflows.
The company’s platform takes a holistic, stack-level approach rather than securing individual tools in isolation and covers the full AI development lifecycle, including integrated development environments, autonomous AI agents, Model Context Protocol servers, prompt workflows and governance controls. The platform is designed to address risks that general-purpose AI security tools and legacy application security solutions often miss by understanding software development context.
Backslash combines multiple security controls into its platform to provide real-time insight into AI coding activity across an organization. Security teams can apply consistent guardrails across tools, monitor granular events as they occur and actively detect and respond to suspicious or malicious behavior introduced through AI-generated code or compromised integrations.
A key focus of the platform is maintaining oversight without slowing developer velocity, with Backslash aiming to allow enterprises to adopt AI-native development practices while preserving governance, compliance and risk management requirements.
“We’ve passed the point of no return on how enterprise software is being composed. Organizations are no longer sitting on the fence – they are propelled by both boardroom pressures to adopt AI for greater efficiency and speed and by developers who embrace the massive benefits of using vibe coding,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Shahar Man. “But security cannot and should not be left behind. By providing quick, broad visibility and deep protection capabilities for the entire stack, we enable our customers to gain confidence in the inevitable journey toward vibe coding and do so without putting their infrastructure and applications at risk.”
The Series A funding round was led by KOMPAS VC, with Maniv Mobility, Artofin Venture Capital, StageOne Ventures Ltd. and First Rays Capital also participating.
“AI has fundamentally changed how software is built regardless of industry and is dramatically increasing security risk,” said Talia Rafaeli, a partner at KOMPAS VC. “Backslash’s purpose-built platform is addressing this shift with a new security model designed for AI-driven development from day one.”
The new funding takes the total raised by Backslash to $27 million.
