Manufact Inc., formerly mcp-use, an infrastructure platform developing the next generation of artificial intelligence agents built on Model Context Protocol, today announced it has raised $6.3 million in seed funding led by Peak XV.
Liquid 2 Ventures, Ritual Capital, Pioneer Fund and YCombinator also participated in the round, joined by angel investors, including the co-founder and chief operating officer of Supabase Inc.
Founded in 2025, Manufact provides an easy way for developers to use MCP, a universal, open standard popularized by Anthropic PBC that connects large language models to other AI models, services and datasets.
When it was released, MCP standardized how developers worked with AI. Instead of having a hodgepodge of custom integrations for talking to services around the internet, they can now use a single integrated way to communicate among apps, agents and third-party systems. Most startups, services and enterprises have adopted the standard, with an estimated 7 million downloads of MCP servers every month, making it the de facto industry standard.
In spite of this, Manufact argues, there’s no way to use MCP easily outside closed-source products. “As software becomes more agentic, the hard part isn’t the model anymore, it’s everything around it,” said co-founder Pietro Zullo. “We started Manufact because developers were spending too much time on plumbing instead of building and shipping their products.”
Manufact provides an open-source software development kit for its library, mcp-use, to allow them to experiment and prototype quickly. This means they can harness different models, tools and integrations with just a few lines of code. As prototypes move into production, the company hosts the setup in its own cloud and handles the complexity of deploying AI systems safely and securely.
“Our goal is to make mpc-use the go-to infrastructure layer for the future of AI builders by taking on the operational and connectivity heavy lifting so teams can focus on what actually matters, from internal agents to external apps for ChatGPT,” added Zullo.
The company said its platform hit 3 million downloads in the fourth quarter of 2025 and sits at 5 million today.
“Both Pietro and I experienced trying to embed AI into real products before MCP existed and it was painful,” said co-founder Luigi Pederzani. “MCP goes a long way to fixing this, but only if the infrastructure is there to support it. That’s what we’re building with Manufact.”
The company said that with this early-stage funding, it will expand its infrastructure, grow its team to meet rising enterprise demand, and further its mission to be the “go-to framework” for MCP development.
