Anthropic launches Claude for Small Business with new automation workflows

Anthropic PBC today launched an offering called Claude for Small Business that is designed to expand the adoption of its chatbot among entrepreneurs.

The feature bundle is the fifth market-specific version of Claude that the company has introduced since the start of 2025. The other four offerings are geared toward life science researchers, schools, attorneys and financial professionals.

Claude for Small Business is built on Claude Cowork, a version of the chatbot that Anthropic launched in January. The standard edition of Claude generates a single response to each user prompt. Claude Cowork, in contrast, can carry out multistep tasks spanning multiple applications. It can also repeat those tasks at user-defined time intervals.

Claude for Small Business extends Claude Cowork with a set of new third-party application connectors. They link the tool to Intuit Quickbooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, Docusign, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. They integrations are available alongside 15 new skills and an equal number of plugins.

A Claude Cowork skill is a folder that contains instructions on how the chatbot should perform a business task. It can also include resources such as scripts that the chatbot may require to complete the task effectively. A plugin, in turn, serves the same purpose as a skill but has a broader focus. A single plugin can include multiple skills along with other assets such as integrations with third-party applications.

Many of the prepackaged skills and plugins in Claude for Small Business focus on automating accounting tasks. Business owners can use them to speed up account reconciliation, which is the process of verifying the accuracy of the data in a company’s general ledger. Claude for Small Business might go about the task by comparing a ledger stored in QuickBooks to PayPal payment logs.

Companies can also create custom automation workflows. A retailer, for example, could set up a workflow that displays QuickBooks revenue data and ad performance metrics from HubSpot in a recurring Slack message. Furthermore, Claude can launch a marketing campaign when the QuickBooks data indicates that there’s a sales slowdown.

Anthropic’s other market-specific feature bundles also combine pre-packaged automation workflows with application connectors. Its Financial Analysis Solution, a version of Claude geared toward investment professionals, integrates with financial data sources such as S&P. The life sciences edition can connect to popular scientific applications.

Anthropic debuted Claude for Small Business today alongside an update to its Agent SDK, which gives third-party artificial intelligence agents access to Claude models. Users with paid Claude accounts will receive monthly Agent SDK credits worth $20 to $200 depending on their plan. Anthropic will start issuing the credits on June 15.
