Artificial intelligence DevOps startup MyDecisive formally launched today and announced $12 million in new funding to bring to market an open-source foundation for managing observability data and a commercial suite it says can slash what enterprises spend running production systems.
Ari Zilka founded MyDecisive in San Francisco in 2023, backed by a long track record in enterprise infrastructure. Two decades ago he built application software company Terracotta Inc., later sold to Software AG, and he architected the first version of Walmart.com. He most recently ran technology at Hortonworks Inc., the Hadoop vendor that Cloudera Inc. absorbed in 2019.
MyDecisive sells an AI DevOps platform that is meant to keep critical applications stable as enterprises push AI workloads into production. At the center of the launch is SmartHub, an open-source foundation built as a Kubernetes and OpenTelemetry-native self-managing cluster. It gives engineering teams control over their telemetry data and intercepts that data at the edge, inside a customer’s own cloud or on-premises systems, rather than shipping large volumes to third-party dashboards.
Layered on top is Octant, a commercial suite that becomes generally available today. Octant adds governance, security controls and automation, with capabilities such as error management, anomaly detection with automated runbook execution, cloud auto-scaling and security log optimization that MyDecisive says engineers can turn on in hours. The company claims the combination cuts the total operating cost of production systems by nearly 90% and brings time-to-value down to a single day.
The pitch targets a gap enterprises hit as both human and AI developers change production systems continuously. Companies often lack the visibility to govern those changes safely at scale, MyDecisive said, leaving the performance, security and cost data those systems generate unused until an incident forces a response.
“For the past three years, we have been quietly building the infrastructure that enterprises actually need, rather than the hype they’ve been sold,” Zilka said. He said rooting the commercial products in open-source SmartHub gives customers the flexibility of open standards alongside enterprise-grade tooling and that they are running the software in production rather than testing it.
MyDecisive said it is already powering production workloads across the financial services, retail, telecommunications and healthcare sectors.
Copper Sky Capital backed the round. Jason Pressman, a managing partner at the firm, said MyDecisive delivers an autonomous system that resolves errors and prevents outages before human intervention is required. Copper Sky Capital, formerly known as AZ-VC, typically leads or co-leads seed and Series A rounds in AI-first software startups.
