Eric Foster, CEO of Tenex Security Inc discussed AI security operations during Black Hat USA 2026. AI

Tenex pairs agentic AI with human oversight for faster security operations

As AI accelerates the speed and scale of cyberattacks, organizations are adopting AI security operations to investigate threats and respond in minutes rather than hours or days. The shift is enabling broader alert coverage and faster detection while keeping human oversight central.

AI is poised to transform security operations by delivering faster, more effective and more cost-efficient outcomes. For SOC teams overwhelmed by a constant stream of attacks and alerts, the technology offers a way to ease workloads and improve cyber defense, according to Eric Foster (pictured), chief executive officer of Tenex Security Inc.

“The attacks are only getting faster, the attackers are only getting faster,” Foster said. “The dawn of artificial intelligence and the immediate obvious applicability to the blue team side of things was such a game changer for us.”

Foster spoke with Krista Case at Black Hat USA, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed AI security operations and the importance of human oversight and accountability. (* Disclosure below.)

Building trust in AI security operations

Building trust depends on the people working directly with customers, not just the technology they provide. That human-centered approach is central to the company’s philosophy and identity, according to Foster.

“We believe that companies don’t need to buy another product. They need outcomes,” Foster said. “Those outcomes are best delivered by the hybrid of software, including obviously heavy use of artificial intelligence and people.”

Continuous quality feedback and human oversight are central to the whole process. The idea of the TENEX turnkey platform is for customers who meet the right conditions to deploy its fully agentic platform and begin reviewing all their alerts within seven days, according to Foster.

“That was a big part of that idea was like, look, you’re going to hear from everybody that they’ve got AI, that they’ve got agentic, that they’ve got all this,” Foster said. “How many of those can be live in your environment in seven days or less?”
