Cymphony launches with $30M to track what AI agents can reach
Enterprise security startup Cymphony Inc. formally launched today with $30 million in funding and software that tracks what artificial intelligence agents and employees can reach inside company systems.
The two-year-old company is now worth more than $100 million, TechCrunch reported.
Cymphony’s platform is built on what the company calls a workforce security graph, a single map of identities, permissions, sensitive data and activity that security teams can query to see which employees, AI agents and machine accounts touched which system. Nothing installs on endpoints. Cymphony said a deployment goes live in a day.
Chief Executive Shy Dekel described an early customer who connected ChatGPT to SharePoint. The company already had security infrastructure in place. Every intern there could then query documents from “an incredibly sensitive litigation process,” Dekel said in Cymphony’s launch announcement. He put it down to an honest mistake by someone in the legal department.
The software splits into four areas. One covers which AI tools staff are using and what they feed into them, a second hunts for business data that has been exposed or overshared, and a third handles identity hygiene, including stale administrator accounts and identities missing multifactor authentication. A threat center watches for insider behavior such as bulk file downloads. Investigation and remediation run through a conversational assistant, Maestro, that takes plain language rather than a query syntax.
Early customers include Syngenta and KKR & Co. Inc. Cass Information Systems Inc. and legal operations software company Athennian are also on the list, and Sequoia Capital runs the software on its own systems. Cymphony reached seven figures in annual recurring revenue within its first year of selling, according to TechCrunch.
Dekel spent close to six years in Israel’s Unit 8200, where he headed the cyber department. Chief Technology Officer Edi Gotlieb came from hardware engineering roles at Apple Inc. and Israel’s Ministry of Defense. Chief Product Officer Idan Berkovits managed a research group in the Office of the Prime Minister. The three co-founders all graduated from Talpiot, the Israeli military’s technology program, and the company employs about 30 people across New York and Tel Aviv.
Most of the $30 million is a $25 million Series A that Sequoia Capital co-led with SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund. Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. and Fin Capital launched that $300 million fund in July 2025 to back early-stage U.S. fintech startups. Sequoia was already an investor, through a seed round Cymphony never announced.
Sequoia partner Bogomil Balkansky said the agent workforce is the next shift, and that whoever supplies “visibility and control” over it has a chance to build a foundational platform. Logan Allin, managing partner at SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund, put it in terms of insider risk. The threats are no longer only human, he said, and enterprises need platforms that run end to end.
