Today networking solutions vendor QLogic got some free promotion from Inspur, a Chinese OEM that named it as “Supplier of the Year for Support.”
The Inspur Group’s business spans software and hardware, mainly servers and storage. QLogic is one of the top partners and, apparently, earned the highest scored in every single category that was considered for the awkward: among these are no less than three types of support –technical and marketing input as well as assistance with merchandising – plus communications and partner profitability.
“With comprehensive strengths in server, storage and software development, Inspur has become a critical go-to-market OEM partner for QLogic in China and beyond,” said Alex Tan, vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan, QLogic. “This recognition is a positive indication that we are on the right track in not only supplying the right technologies to key partners like Inspur, but we are also backing up that technology with the right engineering, marketing and business services.”
On top of that it’s also another point added to the firm’s reputation, and possibly even pitch-worthy material.
QLogic has been finding other areas to improve its image lately. Not too long ago the company introduced a Dell’Oro Group report that concluded (for the 33th time in a row now) that they are in fact the number one vendor in the fibre channel space. That’s not particularly surprising considering QLogic managed to hold on to that title for eight years, but the paper did mention a few figured that are fairly notable.
The networking vendor snatched 57 percent of all the revenue this industry generated in the first quarter of 2012, and it’s 20 percent ahead of its closest competitor. QLogic gained over 3 percent in that period as well.
