Google Is Unstoppable – More Cloud More Web More Mobility – A Cloud Monopoly

image Google is unstoppable.  The only thing that will stop Google is the government.  Google is innovating on so many fronts it’s unbelievable. Today, Google is announcing cloud storage on docs and spreadsheet.

Google will be rolling out the ability to upload, store and organize any type of file in Google Docs. With this change, you’ll be able to upload and access your files from any computer — all you need is an Internet connection.  Just another step in Google march toward total dominance.

Why Is This Relevant?

SiliconAngle’s Mark Rizzn Hopkins wrote about our Angle on CES – a summary of all the reports that came in from SiliconAngle.  Yes that’s right the Google equation is at the heart of the disruptive convergence in tech – cloud, social web, and mobility.  Why is Google so powerful?  In the emerging technology they are pushing in all areas – cloud, social web, and mobility.  Combine that with the fact that they have a monopoly lock on the “regular” web – search.

Putting it all together: data, software, and massive compute scale is Google’s Opportunity.

Google ability to advance on the user experience in new emerging categories leveraged by their massive market share on search (and Google toolbar) gives them unprecedented data.  Just thinking about the possibilities makes me dizzy.

Competitively speaking I just don’t see anyone stepping up to challenge Google.

Microsoft? No. IBM?  No. HP?  No. Intel?  No. Cisco? No. A startup? No Way!

How this will impact the marketplace for companies and startups – not sure but it’s not growth.  Google can steamroll anyone.  Look at the Nexus One phone.  In a months Google makes Motorola look like kids in the garage.

Who can change the game on Google’s dominance? That is the billion dollar question.

I hate to say that but it might just be true: the only thing standing in the way of Google is Uncle Sam.

Update:  @semilshah Semil Shah (really strong tech thinker) pointed out a great post by Chris Dixon on What’s Strategy for Google’s – Thanks Semil.
