Didn’t Send Mom a Gift for Mother’s Day? These Apps Will Virtually Save You

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I’m pretty sure some of you have forgotten to get your mom something special.  Don’t worry, gifts need not be expensive to be memorable, some may cost under $5 and some even for free.  Don’t believe me?  Check out these mobile apps for iOS and Android.  They’re quite simple but can help you convey the message clearly.

LovePowerup

This free app for iOS and Android helps people say “I Love You.”  Some people have a hard time saying these three words, even to their moms.  So here’s an app to help you with the task.  It’s like a social networking app with the sole purpose of spreading love and receiving love.  And what better time to try this app out than Mother’s Day, right?  So go on, flick your fingers and send those I Love You’s to mom.

Mother’s Day cards

Some may think that giving a card to your mom is cheesy and outdated, but if you can create your own virtual card, why not?  It’s not like you’re buying a generic card from a store that hundreds of moms will also probably receive.  Card creators such as Mother’s Day Card Creator for iOS and Mother’s Day Cards for Android, allow you to create your own card especially for your mom.  It’s simple, yet the thought of you taking the time to create a personalized card will surely put a smile on your mom’s face.

Virtual flowers

Not every mom enjoys getting a bouquet of flowers on Mother’s Day, since it will just die in a few days.  So if you want to show your mom how much you love her, give her a bouquet of beautiful flowers that won’t ever wither.  You can choose from the various flowers available at Flowerly and Flower Garden – Grow Flowers and Send Bouquets for iOS, and Sky Flowers HD for Android.  Bonus: this is a huge plus if your mom is allergic to flowers.

Poetry

I know it’s not easy to make your own poem for your mom.  The sentiment is there, but you just can’t make it sound like poetry, right?  Don’t worry, the Poetry Foundation’s got your back.  You can download either the iOS or Android app for free to get access to T. S. Eliot, Pablo Neruda, Lucille Clifton, Emily Dickinson, and other famous poets works.  If your mom has a favorite poet or poem, search for it using the app, and as a surprise, recite that poem for your mom.  I’m sure she will be delighted with the simple gesture.
