Fun Apps for Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day is an American holiday that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers on the first Monday of September. But for some, it’s the end of summer and the start of autumn so some just celebrate this glorious day relaxing in the their house.
If you’re on of those who want to make the most of the holiday, you can try some of these apps to make your Labor Day weekend far from boring.
The Hamptons BlackBook City Guide
If you’re lucky to be spending Labor Day weekend at the Hamptons but don’t know your way around the township and you don’t want people noticing it’s your first time, you can download the free Android or iOS app, Hamptons BlackBook City Guide, to help you get around. The app provides Access Perks, discounts, and VIP treatment at the newest and hottest shops, restaurants, bars & clubs, hotels, spas & salons in Dallas, plus insider lowdowns from local night-owls, shop hounds, club kids, and foodies.
Marine Charts
Some like spending their time on a boat or yacht on Labor Day simply because they find sailing the most relaxing feeling. Most boat owners know how to get around on their seafaring vehicles but for first time sailors, there’s an app for that. The Marin Charts apps for iOS and Android costs $19.99 and it features all US charts including all NOAA Coastal, Great Lakes, and US Territories (USVI, Puerto Rico, etc…) also Army Corps charted major inland rivers, online and offline support, guidance such as leg distance and heading, cross track error, total distance, and time to go, and even weather reports so you’ll know if it’s safe to sail.
For the people
Those two apps seem to be directed at more affluent groups, so what if you’re not from the “haves” of the US? Would you be stuck with just laying around the house waiting for the day to pass? There are some apps that could help you feel the Labor Day spirit.
Croquet is a game that anyone can enjoy but mostly, those with huge lawns or backyards play it. Now, even if you don’t have a huge lawn or backyard, you can enjoy this game using your iOS or Android device. Most say it’s not quite like gaming the real game, well it’s an app, what do you expect? But it’s a nice way of passing time without having to exert much effort if you’re not into breaking some sweat.
If you love boats but unfortunately do not own one or know anyone who owns one that would let you borrow it. you can download Top Sailor Sailing Simulator for $4.99 on iOS and Android. It features realistic simulation of sailboat and motorboat, six AI opponents from newbies to experienced sailors, several beautiful locations to explore, never-ending supply of race tracks: the built-in track generator, adjustable weather conditions (wind strength, direction and variation), apparent wind and telltale indicators and a lot more other features.
Or if you just want to spend a fun day drinking with your buddies, you can download 101 Drinking Games for Android, or Drinking Games for iOS, to keep things interesting.
Enjoy Labor Day!
