Video: Apture Highlights Launched to Improve Publishers’ Engagement

Apture, a San Fransisco-based browsing enhancement company takes the next step. Today, they have launched Apture Highlights browser plug-in. Apture is a product that allows you to quickly search new terms in an article without leaving the page. The results from web, image and video categories are shown in a pop window. The video below will give you a better idea of how the whole deal works.

This new feature was previously available only to publishers to incorporate in their website. Big names like FinancialTimes.com, TheNation.com, ReadersDigest.com, etc. were using this feature to increase reader engagement. Now, it is made available to a larger audience, who can use this feature for all websites, to enhance their browsing experience. Here is the announcement from the Apture Blog,

Today, we are proud to officially announce Apture Highlights for Google Chrome, Firefox and Apple’s Safari web browsers. With Apture Highlights installed in your browser, you simply highlight ANY word or short phrase on the page, and instantly reveal the best and most relevant search results in a non-intrusive results window. Apture Highlights brings results together from sites such as YouTube, Wikipedia, Twitter and Google and presents the content you choose in powerful miniature viewers. Gone are the days of toggling between tabs to get additional information. Apture puts information in one place, with as many content choices as you like.

Online research can be tedious and mind boggling. Usually, we can’t satisfy our curiosity with just one article. There is always another term, news, event, place, person, company or concept that we need to know more about. So, as our curiosity increases, more tabs start to open and eventually, we lose track of what we were looking for in the first place. Well, not any more, as, Apture is yet another tool to make your online reading experience easy and enjoyable.  See it work below:
