Apple Inc.’s release of the long-awaited Apple Watch could go on sale by the end of March, according to 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman. According to his sources, Apple is completing work on the Watch’s software and the device will be ready to ship in the U.S. by the end of March.
According to sources aware of Apple’s retail plan, extensive training is due to happen between February 9 and 16, with one or two representatives from each U.S. Apple store attending the program at Apple’s corporate offices in either California or Texas. Once the training program is complete, the store representatives will return to pass on the training they received to their respective Apple Store colleagues.
Since announcing the Apple Watch in September, Apple has been working frantically on the Watch operating system (OS), thorough battery testing as well as improving the inductive charging mechanism.
The collection will include the Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition, all available with a range of wristband designs. Pricing for the metal and glass sport model will be $349 according to Apple, however, they have remained quiet with regards to the other versions. Rumors have been making the rounds that the stainless steel version may start at $500, while the gold version will range between $4000 and $5000.
Gurman has developed a good reputation when it comes to Apple rumors and has seemingly reliable sources, so barring any delays the likelihood of seeing the Watch in March is high.
