Twitchange Auctions Celebrities for Charity

So you can’t get your favorite celebrities to notice you after retweeting them 10 times? 20 times? 100 times? A thousand times? Well, here’s good news for you. Twitchange is launching an online celebrity charity auction, giving you a chance to actually tweet with your favorite celeb.   Because that’s the real reason we all tweet every day.

Twitchange will give you the opportunity to be followed by your favorite celebrity on Twitter, retweet one of your tweets or mention you in a tweet. The auction starts this September 15 and ends on the 25th.  The proceeds will go to aHomeinHaiti.org, intended for the reconstruction of The Miriam Center  for the shelter and education of children in Haiti.

This is the latest in a long string of Twitter-enabled charity outlets, as social media continues to be one of the most effective ways to raise awareness on a large scale.  Throw in a celebrity or two, and you’ve got one influential network.  The fact that this trend is still going says a lot, and only encourages more applications to find an edge in this exploratory space.  Non-profits are often the first to see great success with such social media implementations, beginning trends that often lead to more organized monetization of social media platforms.  Just look at what’s happening with Facebook and its virtual currency.

No need to ache over your countless tweet unnoticed, @JustinBeiber and his million fans crowding the internet is sure to notice you for the first time. All you need is some money in the bank and a Twitter account.  That’s right.  Money can buy (everyone) happiness.  As if we needed to give you an excuse to watch a video of Eva Longoria…
