Oracle targets business users with real-time analytics platform
Oracle is getting into the real-time analytics game with a new package that uses pre-configured dashboards and graphical modeling to make business insights available to business users.
Oracle Real-Time Integration Business Insight works with existing Oracle applications to create reports using what Oracle described as a simple three-step process:
- Define milestones.
- Map the model to application services using graphical tools.
- Activate the model.
Dashboards are immediately available, Oracle said. Users can define the metrics in a top-down approach, which can in turn be mapped to the connected services in applications. All this can be done without taking applications down or restarting them.
Real-time analytics has become a hot market since the arrival of Apache Spark two years ago. It’s difficult to figure out how Real-Time Integration Business Insight relates to Spark or any other analytics tool, for that matter. Oracle’s video library for the tool is mostly placeholders, and documentation page is all dead links.
There is this video, though.
