How companies are keeping up with the speed of technology | #SAPPHIRENOW

SAP has been around for years, and many companies still run it on traditional databases. Capgemini North America, Inc. helps customers migrate their SAP platforms to cloud-based systems.

Joe Coyle, global CTO and solutions leader of cloud services at Capgemini, sat down with John Furrier (@furrier) and Peter Burris (@plburris), cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during SAP Sapphire 2016 in Orlando, Florida.

A three-point process

Capgemini uses a three-point process to help its customers integrate: advise, align and animate. “Advise” to help customers figure out what they want, “align” by assessing the total migration and “animate” the final solution.

SAP migration issues

Some companies are struggling with SAP migration, because they know what they want to do but don’t know how, for several reasons. Some also believe the speed of technology is so fast that by the time they make a decision they’re already behind. Others simply do not understand the value of IT in making business decisions.

“They can’t understand why IT is so critical,” said Coyle.

30-to-90-minute migration

Companies on traditional data servers are realizing that the technology is changing. They want off their old systems but are unsure of how to accomplish it. Capgemini is helping these clients move their systems quickly and efficiently.

“I can’t imagine an SAP workload that we can’t move in 30 to90 minutes,” said Coyle.
