How to watch exclusives from GE Minds + Machines | #GEMM16
Kicking off today in San Francisco, the General Electric Co. Minds + Machines event takes a deep look at the current state of the Internet of Things, establishing expectations for doing business in a machine-connected world. Here, GE brings together industry thought leaders to share the insights on the current situation of the industrial internet, its future prospects and the creation of a digital industrial company. SiliconANGLE will be at GE Minds and Machines with exclusive interviews from our roving news desk, theCUBE.
Jeffrey Immelt, chairman and chief executive officer of GE, has ambitions to create a digital industrial company and has a goal of reaching $15 billion in digital sales by 2020. This week, GE announced the acquisition of field operations specialist ServiceMax Inc. for $915 million to expand its GE Digital division, which the company formed last year.
GE will likely connect ServiceMax with its cloud-based Predix platform, which was created to meet the needs of industrial businesses.
Various GE executives, including CEO Immelt, will present at the Minds + Machines event. Speakers include Bill Ruh, chief digital officer of GE and chief executive officer of GE Digital; Beth Comstock, vice chair; Steve Bolze, president and chief executive officer of GE Power, and a senior vice president of GE; and Jim Fowler, chief information officer.
Other guest speakers at GE Minds + Machines include Michael Nilles, chief digital officer for Schindler Group and chief executive officer for Schindler Digital Business; Ahmed Hashmi, head of upstream technology at BP plc; Susan R. Landahl, senior vice president at Exelon Generation Co. LLC; and Rodney Brooks, founder, chairman and chief technology officer of Rethink Robotics Inc.
