Follow Twitter Upgrades: “People” To Spur More Interactions

Twitter, the ultimate runner-up in social networking, has rolled out an extensive series of updates lately to spur more interaction and user activity within the site. Twitter has recently launched its “People” feature. This tab is seen next to the Home tab, and draws more channels of following people and finding friends.

Some of the key advancements seen with this addition are the following: suggests friends for you, allows you to browse Twitter users via diverse interests, locate new Twitter buddies through other services like Gmail, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Hotmail and Messenger, and saves your recent searches, people you have followed and viewed.

The predicament of limited site interaction has possibly placed Twitter at the losing end ,every single time Facebook incorporates more social graph-leveraging updates.  As Twitter realized their potential and bigger rooms of opportunities, they have poured in some good stuff, striving towards innovation in design lately.  Twitter launched a money-making, marketing and interacting feature called Promoted Accounts.  The concept of this segment is simple: it suggests friends and gear towards monetization via advertising.

Aside from updates on algorithm-based tools, Twitter has also made extensive lay out changes in order to keep up with the competition and hopefully stimulate more contacts and magnet new members. However, it seems that the redesign resembles some traditional social networking features. Thus, the verdict, Facebook still is more robust compared to Twitter – being successful in establishing healthy partnerships with their providers, advertisers, users and even media.

With the need to propel activities and attract more users, third party recommendations are being tapped by Twitter for recommendations, which is another area Twitter is looking to make gains within its own network. The importance of these social marketing platforms is slowly being grasped by different social networking sites. This is triggered by the need for more comprehensive tools for the users.
