QLogic Optimizes 3GCNA for Cisco Data Center Fabric, Puts Emphasis on Security
Storage and networking company QLogic has announced the optimization of its 10GbE converged network adapters for the Cisco Data Center Fabric. QLogic’s 3GCNA products deliver an “extremely secure data” cloud environment when combined with the Cisco Data Center Fabric, and QLogic is planning to monetize this support on a global scale.
“QLogic’s 3GCNA products, in combination with the Cisco Data Center Fabric deliver an environment of extremely secure data center virtualizations and cloud computing. The products will be available through QLogic authorized resellers globally.”
QLogic is working hard to maintain its prime status in the market, and its 3rd quarter earnings report indicated a 76 percent growth compared to 2009. Still, the company’s annual net revenues declined to $549.1 million from $633.9 million a year before, but QLogic continues to be one of the most prominent players in the industry.
In addition to QLogic, we’ve also had a couple of more recent updates from Cisco. For once, it unveiled a completely overhauled datacenter portfolio encompassing everything from switches and servers to the networking giant’s datacenter management software. A few days later, we’ve learned that Australian telecommunications vendor Telestra is prepping to sell Cisco’s Cius Android tablet, a higher-end business-oriented tablet integrated with Cisco software.
