Claris Connect launches to give low-code workflow automation to small business

Claris International Inc., a subsidiary of Apple Inc., today announced the launch of a powerful workflow automation platform designed for the real-world software development challenges faced by small and medium-sized businesses.

Claris Connect links manual and automatic processes through the cloud both onsite and remotely in order to streamline and automate business processes and development workflows. The platform provides integration, orchestration and automation for numerous third-party apps, including Box and DocuSign, without the need to code.

“The right path to being cloud-first is to be cloud-smart,” said Claris Chief Executive Brad Freitag. “That means giving problem solvers all the power of the cloud — sharing, rapid deployment, scalability — without losing connection to the real world. For more than 20 years, Claris has been the go-to solution to deliver apps that fit the white space between existing applications.”

The platform includes almost 50 connectors at launch, including many of the world’s most-used enterprise applications such as Trello, Slack and Box.

By eliminating the need for custom coding, Claris Connect puts the power of workflow orchestration into the hands-on business users, the company said. It also provides features such as conditional logic, approval, code blocks and custom connectors. As a result, it can supply advanced developers with the tools they need to build onto the platform.

“There have never been any limits on what our developers can create with Claris FileMaker, which is why we are widely deployed by everyone from SMBs to Fortune 100 companies,” said Freitag. “That said, the speed of digital transformation happening in every industry demands hyper-agility and the ability to go from idea to workflow in minutes. Claris Connect drives this forward.”

Through Claris, users also have access to a large developer community, which serves more than 1 million active users. This ecosystem includes a global professional partner network, in-depth learning resources and an online portal filled with knowledgeable users.

Claris Connect is built atop Claris Core, which means that DevOps, CloudOps and SecOps teams can work with it to ensure users have access to up-to-date technologies, patches and the strongest security. This includes end-to-end encryption, hardware security module key management, OAuth, multifactor authentication and AI-based threat detection and more.

Claris announced the beta for Claris Connect in November following its official rebranding from FileMaker Inc. in August and the acquisition of Stamplay, an Italian startup that builds integration connectors for developers that allow data flow between cloud-based services and apps. Since then, it has continued to build out its platform and prepare Connect for its debut today.

Pricing for Claris Connect begins at $99 for one month.
