Evernote Spreads to More Platforms, but Can it Curb the Competition?

Evernote Windows Phone 7Windows Phone 7 users have to wait no longer.  Evernote is clearly a pedestal for those who depend on it.  Search for “Evernote” using the Marketplace application.

Evernote for Windows Phone 7 lets you save and find your ideas and memories any time, anywhere. As you would expect, it seamlessly syncs with every other version of Evernote you use, but there’s so much more. In fact, this is the most feature-rich debut we’ve ever had. Not only is it packed with capabilities, but it’s also beautiful—taking advantage of the innovative Windows Phone 7 Metro interface and its Pivot panels. And, as always, Evernote for Windows Phone 7 is free and available now from the App Hub.

I’m a Springpad user, and highly recommend it over Evernote.  It gives a more personalized experience rather than a place to store information.  Sometimes it’s good to have a nudge on your own thought process.

With Evernote, you can document a restaurant that sounds interesting.  Springpad gives the option to remember if you ate or want to eat there.   The personalized details are what separates the two applications.

The plus side is app development for Windows Phone 7.  It feels behind with Apple’s App Store, Android, and Blackberry.  Evernote being a solid productivity app scores big for the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace.

Both Evernote and Springpad are solid applications.  The demand for Windows Phone 7 developers needs to be more visible than it is.  As an iPhone user, I can’t complain.  The App Store distributes high quality applications, and unlikely to release any security issues.
