We are all acutely aware of our life endeavors that have all been greatly improved by technology. From the most basic household chores to complex infrastructural projects, we rely on our machines and gadgets to make life easier and more fulfilling.

While technology has been directly helpful in healthcare — more specifically in areas like surgery, treatment administration and vaccine development — we don’t often see software technologies like artificial intelligence taking a similarly prominent role in the industry.

But medical image analysis AI software company Entelai is aiming to change that with the help of digital transformation company Nubiral.

“So we did a very strong or multi-centered approach in Latin America, showing that, as in other areas, the combination of doctors with these technologies provided high benefit and the trade empowerment of the capacity to detect those patients that are suspicious of COVID-19,” said Mauricio Farez (pictured right), founder and chief executive officer of Entelai. “And at the beginning of the pandemic, when we didn’t have POS tests, we helped doctors to detect COVID-19 cases.”

Farez and Fabian Díaz Segovia (pictured left), chief operating officer and chief technology officer of Nubiral, spoke with Natalie Erlich, host of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, during the recent 2021 AWS Global Public Sector Partner Awards. Beyond COVID

While Entelai (with Nubiral as a backbone) was extremely crucial to South American doctors and other healthcare professionals during the pandemic’s first wave (and subsequently), use cases extend much farther than the virus.

During this year’s AWS Global Public Sector Partner Awards program, Nubiral was awarded as the “most customer-obsessed mission-based win.” The product merited the award through its provision of cloud solutions required to power healthcare requirements like early COVID diagnoses, chest radiography and a host of other key functions.

“Basically in our project, it was essential to use cloud technology of AWS because of the implementation of its services. You can very quickly provide services to new clinics new healthcare facilities in a matter of time or minutes from the point where we have the need and until the client has the software,” Segovia added while discussing Nubiral’s AWS underpinnings.
