New Rezilion Smart Fix offers guidance to patching vulnerable components
DevSecOps automation tools startup Rezilion Inc. today announced a new feature called Smart Fix that offers critical guidance for users to understand the most strategic upgrade to fix vulnerable components.
The feature seeks to address the issue wherein patching is a complicated and noisy process, which can lead to longer times for fixes and increases risks for an organization. Updating vulnerable components to the latest version can cause disruptive breaks in the enterprise environment, increasing tension between DevOps and security staff when remediation must happen. DevSecOps is the practice of integrating security testing at each stage of the software development process, in part to avoid that tension.
Smart Fix is claimed to be the answer to common issues when patching is required, offering guidance on the best update version available to patch Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures with the lowest likelihood of breaking applications or infrastructure, shrinking operational risk and minimizing downtime.
The guidance provided by Smart Fix also allows users to clear out clutter and complexity and create policies and automation that prioritize the smartest fix available, not just the most recent fix. Rezilion claims this leads to faster remediation workflows to minimize exposure time.
Using the service, the company says, developers can focus on fixing components that are possible to fix with clear instructions on what they need to fix right the first time, avoiding time-consuming rounds of research and rollbacks.
Razilion claims that the offering differs from other scanners and vulnerability management solutions, as Smart Fix tells users what and where to fix and how to eliminate both common vulnerabilities and exposure as well as operational risks simultaneously – and get the work done automatically.
“We believe that too much time is spent on security – especially when it comes to software,” Liran Tancman, chief executive officer of Rezilion, said ahead of the launch of the service. “That’s why we’re releasing Smart Fix, which will allow customers to apply the best upgrade available that will not break their build while addressing multiple exploitable vulnerabilities with one patch, saving everybody time.”
Rezilion is a venture capital-backed startup, including a raise of $30 million in September 2021. Investors in the company include Guggenheim Investments, Kindred Capital LLP, Jerusalem Venture Partners, LocalGlobe LLP and Samsung NEXT LLC.
