Exclusive ‘commercetools Elevate’ coverage: Join theCUBE April 18

TheCUBE has been tracking how bleeding-edge technology, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, is set to change everything. All told, it involves chaos, according to theCUBE Research industry analyst Dave Vellante.

“One thing’s for sure: Everybody’s life is going to get disrupted by AI in some way, shape or form,” Vellante said back in July 2023.

The power of disruptive technologies, such as a like AI and machine learning, has continued to play out since then and has led traditional industries to face a pivotal moment. The inaugural commercetools Elevate event will be a chance to examine further how these cutting-edge advancements are reshaping commerce, amplifying sustainability efforts and redefining the fabric of how businesses operate.

There has been an “explosion” of commerce software companies, both public and private, in recent years, according to Arjun Bhatia, research analyst at William Blair. If one thinks about larger companies, it’s important to recognize that they can’t do everything, and certainly can’t do everything well, according to Bhatia.

“That’s where the younger startups have come in and addressed gaps in the market,” Bhatia told Modern Retail. “What happened over the past few years is they saw great demand,.

Rebecca Knight, host of theCUBE, and Shelly Kramer, principal analyst of theCUBE Research, will explore those areas of interest and more with industry professionals as they discuss the use cases in tech’s enablement of composable commerce. Reported growth and the launch of new initiatives

In the 2023 fiscal year, commercetools reported that its annual recurring revenue saw 65% growth in the Americas region. The company said its gross merchandise value increased 45% year-over-year to more than $30 billion in 2023.

Leaders in commerce recognize that it’s important to stay flexible and agile to meet customers’ demands, according to Matt Gatto, managing director of Insight Partners. But too few realize the need to shift off of homegrown, legacy infrastructure until they’ve fallen behind their competition.

“Commercetools provides organizations with a solution to move away from old, inflexible platforms to one that is flexible and agile,” Gatto recently said. “This enables organizations to not only stay ahead of the competition, but to meet their business targets, drive top-line revenue growth, increase operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.”

Over the past six months, commercetools has launched commercetools Foundry, intended to empower retailers “to expedite time to value with less friction and exceptional scalability through a seamless composable commerce adoption program.” The company also announced its Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II compliance in February.

“Our SOC2 Type II report is a big pillar in our security program at commercetools, underlining the advanced and high maturity of the security controls of our Information Security Management System,” said Emil Pfrang, head of information security at commercetools, at the time of the announcement.

How is generative AI driving new methods and innovations for global commerce? Plus, what’s the role of data and AI tech for intelligent apps, observability and security? Such discussions will be explored during the commercetools Elevate event. TheCUBE will provide full coverage of the event to capture all the breaking news and provide analyst-driven commentary. You can follow theCUBE’s wall-to-wall coverage for firsthand insights.
