As artificial intelligence continues making waves in the modern world, becoming an AI-first company is critical. Infosys Topaz solves this challenge by boosting business value for global enterprises with generative AI. 

Ensuring that enterprise data is ready for AI is the first stepping stone toward making AI real in an organization, according to Gopal Sugavanam (pictured), vice president and data analytics practice head at Infosys Ltd.

Infosys’ Gopal Sugavanam talks to theCUBE about the importance of Infosys Topaz and an AI-first enterprise transformation.

“The transformative impact of AI and gen AI really depends on how well you’re able to get your data ready for AI,” he said. “Infosys Topaz is really where we’ve organized all of our data, analytics, AI and gen AI services. We’ve collected all of our assets, the business-facing assets, that help us deliver a lot of fascinating use cases to our consumer goods, retail, logistics and manufacturing customers. All of this together, under one umbrella, that is really what we call Infosys Topaz.”

Sugavanam spoke with theCUBE Research’s Rebecca Knight and Rob Strechay at Alteryx Inspire, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. Infosys Topaz triggers the AI-first goal

Since becoming an AI-first organization is top of mind for companies, comprehending business use cases and having a perfect governance structure are vital. This is because they set the ball rolling when it comes to making the data ready for AI, and this is where Infosys Topaz acts as a playbook, according to Sugavanam. 

“A good governance structure not only helps you get visibility to what’s happening within the organization, but also help provide playbooks and frameworks for doing this responsibly,” he said. “Next is thinking about business use cases. How do you start to tie these two bigger business outcomes that you have within your enterprise? That’s what we call AI-first. The next and the most important step is getting data organized for AI or getting data ready for AI.”

Alteryx Inc. fits into the Infosys picture by helping with data wrangling. This is made possible through Auto Insights, which is powered by machine learning algorithms. As a result, companies are able to easily work with data, enabling them to understand what is happening in their businesses, Sugavanam pointed out. 

“Alteryx is a very important capability … it is helping democratize data for insights and analytics,” he said. “Alteryx provides an easy way for us to organize, massage the data, what they call wrangle, profile it so that we make it consumable. It’s Auto Insights that Alteryx provides, which helps us create those insights from the data we are looking into that help a business user make better decisions.”
